Overtime, Yomi has acquired knowledge as a writer, poet, performer and practitioner.
Having being born in Nigeria and migrating to the UK at 9 years old, Yomi has a wealth of experience to share. While Yomi has cultivated a career as a writer, he has also built his career as a practitioner in the youth sector. Delivering workshops in citizenship, knife crime, and best practice regarding young people.
“I have been fortunate to have both skill sets as a young people practitioner and writer. There have been moments where both of these have fused beautifully and this is due to my learnings overtime. I now use my practitioner skills as a mentor, workshop facilitator, to name but a few. I now speak about my first-hand experience as a black boy growing up in England, I also speak about my work and how it links to modern-day issues happening now.”
